The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) seeks to invest $15 billion in Turkey, Head of the SOCAR Investments Department said.

Vagif Aliyev noted that a petrochemical complex is expected to be constructed in the peninsula where Petkim petrochemical company is located.

He further said a power plant, wind energy facilities and port would be built here. The amount of investments would hit $15 bln in 2025, Aliyev said.

He stressed that Azerbaijani side intends to purchase gas networks in Turkey.

As for transportation of gas from Azerbaijan to Turkey, Aliyev said that Azerbaijani side intends to sell this gas itself. “According to the plan, we seek to enter Turkish gas distributing networks sphere, and it will be a great advantage for us to have a place in this sphere,” APA quoted Aliyev as saying.
