Mass refugee inflow from Iran won’t trigger price upsurge – UMBA chair

A crisis in Iran will clearly affect Armenia’s economy, according to the head of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia.

As Vazgen Safaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, “on one hand, a small county like Armenia cannot afford hosting a major inflow of refugees. On another, humanitarian assistance cannot be ruled out, with the issue under the jurisdiction of Foreign Ministry.”

Safaryan, however, was skeptical that the inflow of refugees will result in price upsurge, as, before long, the government will be implementing regulating functions. “Let’s hope the situation in Iran, complicated as it is, won’t deteriorate further. After all, Iran won’t be as easy to attack as Iraq was,” the head of the NGO remarked.
