An earthquake measuring 4,5 on Richter scale hit Iranian city of Esfarayen, North Khorasan Province on December 8, at 8:56 pm local time, Iranian Seismological Center reported.

The quake left several houses in Esfarayen-adjacent villages damaged and demolished. No information provided as to casualties, according to IRNA.
