Russian expert forecasts shift in Karabakh talks format

Withdrawal of own draft resolution from UN General Assembly agenda by Azerbaijan testifies not only to escalation of political-diplomatic squabble regarding Nagorno Karabakh but a possible reformatting of the entire negotiation process, Russian expert said, inferring promotion of Madrid principles developed by OSCE Minsk Group.

“Adoption of this resolution would cause divergence between UN resolution and existing norms of International law in Europe, that took effect after Kosovo issue,” Stanislav Tarasov told Analitika.at.ua. Draft resolution "Situation in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan" placed on UN General Assembly agenda by Azerbaijan will again be withdrawn at Baku's suggestion.
