Naregatsi founder calls charges against him groundless

Founder and President of Naregatsi Art Institute Nareg Harutunian believes charges set against him are groundless and “are stemming from the greed of certain people who want to earn more money”.

“What happened to me is an alert both for Armenia and Diaspora,” Harutyunyan told a press conference, commenting on his arrest and charges of tax evasion.

State Revenue Committee of Armenia found that “GH Storage Enterprise” belonging to Harutyunian’s family evaded taxes of AMD 111 million in total. The Court of General Jurisdiction ruled for Harutyunian’s two-month detention on December 10.

On December 13, however, the measure of restraint was cancelled.

“We will gladly pay the required sum, should the court prove the validity of charges,” said Harutyunian.
