Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs refuted earlier Azeri media reports on allegedly assessing Khojalu events in 1992 as “genocide”.

“Conclusion on Karabakh issue was read out at Senate of Mexico, with Mexican authorities voicing support to OSCE Minsk Group in peace talks,” the Ministrysaid.

The concluding paragraph dwells on Khojalu massacres, and not genocide.

Earlier, Azeri media spread information that Mexican Senate decision claims that “on February, 1992, Armenian armed forces launched an offensive on Khojalu citizens killing hundreds of civilians; the act was later assessed as genocide by international community.”
