Armenian grandmaster Krikor-Sevag Mekhitarian scored 6 points to gain 5th place at Brazil Chess Championship.

Grandmaster Rafael Leitao won the tournament gold, with 9 points. Alexandr Fier and Henrique Mecking became runner-ups with 8,5 and 7 points resp.

12 players competed in the round robin tournament at Campinas-hosted event.
