French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe had a phone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu following French parliament's adoption of a bill penalizing Armenian Genocide denial.

As Vesti.az reported, quoting Turkish media, Davutoglu slammed France for “sacrificing a great friendship over minor political gains.”

Davutoglu warned the official Paris about the serious repercussions of Genocide bill adoption. “Turkey won't stay silent,” he said.

Turkish ambassador to France will leave Paris Friday, Dec 23 in protest at the adoption of a bill.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced a raft of political and military sanctions after French lawmakers approved a bill making it a crime to deny the Armenian Genocide.
