The problem of time zone shift is on focus of Armenian Economy Ministry agenda.
As Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan told a resulting press conference on December 27, Armenian Parliament may adopt a relevant draft law stipulating time zone shift implementation in two stages.
According to him, before moving to a different time zone, transition to winter mode is envisaged to be abolished in Armenia, with a shift that corresponds to Armenia’s geographical position to be carried out in 1-2 years.
“The shift will bring us closer to Moscow and Europe’s time zone,” Minister Davtyan said.
The difference between Armenia’s, Greenwich and other European countries’ time zones comprises +4, and +3 respectively.
According to Minister Davtyan, the shift will be convenient both from business and tourism perspective, as well as for ordinary citizens.
