Syrian Chargé d'Affaires to Armenia ruled out full restoration of Turkey-Iran ties due to Turkey’s support extended to Syrian dissent.

Mamoun Hariri attributed the start of protests to Al-Qaeda terrorists having crossed into Syria through Lebanese border.

Dwelling on Turkey’s stand, Mr. Hariri stressed the need for Turkey to focus on interior war against Kurds. “Turkey should tackle its problems prior to advising Syria to follow its suit,” the diplomat stated.

Hariri further noted that Turkey’s current position contradicts to its “zero problems with neighbors” policy.

Following the start of unrests in Syria, Turkish authorities repeatedly called on Syria to end violence in the country.
