Iranian MP: Turkey needs to modify stance on Syria

Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi says Turkey needs to modify its policies toward Syria and accept the reality of Syria's developments if it seeks to find a kind of diplomacy compatible with that of the Islamic republic in this regard.

Criticizing Turkey's stance regarding developments in Syria, Boroujerdi said that Turkey has adopted policies not conducive to "stability” in the region. Turkey has been interfering in Syria’s internal affairs as the Damascus government is entangled in a conflict with opponents.

He also added the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, who visited Tehran on Wednesday, January 4 and his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi were to discuss recent developments in Syria.

Boroujerdi, who is the chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, announced that parliament speaker Ali Larijani will also visit Turkey soon, Mehr News Agency reported.
