Turkish Foreign Minister said on Sunday, January 8, that Turkey would not let a new cold war in the Middle East.

Ahmet Davutoglu said Turkey did not want to see any new tension in its region like Sunni-Shiite, Arab-Iran, status quo group and con status quo group polarizations.

"Turkey will support every project aiming to re-built economy and restore democracy in these countries," Davutoglu said during a meeting on "Turkey in the light of international developments" in Istanbul.

Davutoglu said reconstruction of that geography was in Turkey's national interest, and if democracy and strong economies were restored in the Middle East, Turkey would again be united with its historical hinterland.

The Minister said Turkey had done everything it could for Syria, and would continue to do so for Syrian people, Turkish Weekly reported.
