Sauerland wants to organize heavyweight super six tourney

Promoter Kalle Sauerland of Sauerland Event, who was very instrumental in the organization of the original Super Six super middleweight tournament, would be interested in organizing a heavyweight version of the Super Six. Sauerland has three and even possibly four boxers who could particpate - including Robert Helenius (17-0, 11KOs), Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16KOs), Kubrat Pulev (15-0, 7KOs) - and Marco Huck (34-1, 25KOs) -if he beats Povetkin on February 25th for the WBA title.

"It would be nice to organize a tournament in the heavyweight division. I believe that six heavyweights could participate. Four of them are boxing on ARD: Povetkin, Helenius, Pulev, and if he beats Povetkin on February 25 - Marco Huck. From a commercial point of view, the Super Six has been very successful. The tournament has also increased the popularity of the sport. If it wasn't for this format, we wouldn't have seen so many mega-fights in such a short period of time. We would have had to wait 6 to 8 years," Boxingforum quoted Sauerland as saying.
