SCR to launch transit transportations to Russia, Ukraine, Turkey

South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC plans to develop service sector for transit passengers and organize transportation by following routes: Yerevan-Batumi-Sochi-other cities of Russia, Yerevan- Batumi-Sochi-Crimea, Yerevan- Batumi-Illichivsk- other cities of Ukraine and Yerevan-Batumi- cities of Turkey.

In a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, head of SCR passenger transportation department Gagik Movsisyan noted that Russian Railways JSC and Georgian Railway LLC passenger train tickets are planned to be sold.

In this context, he said that in summer, 2011 the company started providing clients with a new service organizing transit journeys to Russian and Ukrainian Black Sea resorts, with 30 people having used the service in 2011. “This is a good result for a pilot program,” Movsisyan said.
