Expert rules out recurrence of Iraqi scenario in Iran

Caucasus Institute director ruled out the possibility of a war between the West and Iran, naming current attempts at mutual intimidation a mere power play.

“Present-time Iran is completely different from Iraq of 1991 as far as military power, population number, and the attitude to the ruling regime goes,” Alexander Iskandaryan told a news conference in Yerevan.

According to the politician, the bombing of Iran nuclear facilities will be hard to accomplish technically, given the mountainous area and the size of the country, succeeding only in further radicalizing the official Tehran.
