David Nalbandian: our team tries hard to emerge victorious

On Feb 3, David Nalbandian leaves for Germany together with Martin Jaite and Eduardo Schwank. Later Juan Monaco and Juan Ignacio Chela, who are both still in the draw at Viña del Mar, will join the players.

“I've trained a lot since I arrived back in Argentina from Australian Open. Presently I’m training for Davis Cup vs. Germany,” the player said.

Asked if he will play singles or doubles, Nalbandian answered that he is at team's disposal and will play those rubbers the captain decides.

After Davis Cup final 2011, Argentina's team captain Modesto Tito Vasquez resigned to be replaced by Martín Jaite.

Nalbandian noted Jaite to be a former player, much loved by the current players.

Asked whether victory at Davis Cup is plausible, Nalbandian answered, “We have a very good team that always makes it to the decisive stages. We came very close to winning it several times. We'll play a very tough first tie and if we get through it, our schedule will be full of home ties,” according to the player's official fan blog.
