Armenian freestyle wrestlers won 2 medals on the first tournament day. After making it to the final, Gegham Babakhanyan (weight class 55kg) was beaten Vladislav Petrov (Russia). Meanwhile, in the same weight category Mihran Jaburyan scored a win over Darii Gheorghe (Bulgaria) to finish 3rd.
