Armenian political analyst says Russia and France have similar interests regarding ties with Turkey.

Sergey Shakaryants cited holding of Sochi presidential meeting and debate of the bill criminalizing the Armenian Genocide denial on one and the same day as an example of the aforesaid.

“France attempts to hold Turkey away from EU processes,” the expert said.

On January 23, Sochi hosted a meeting between the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents. On the same day, the French Senate debated the draft law penalizing the Armenian Genocide denial.
