Military commissariats to be disbanded in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to enforce the law on ‘Military Duty and Military Service’.

Under the document, several of the Azerbaijani military commissariats under the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry are disbanded. The Azerbaijani state service on the mobilization and conscription was established.

Under the decree, the Azerbaijani state service on the mobilization and conscription within two months must submit proposals for the structure of the service, the total number of military staff, employees and a list of senior officers to the President.

The Cabinet of Ministers was charged with preparing the proposals within three months to coordinate the laws of the Azerbaijani Republic and acts of the Azerbaijani President with the law on 'Military Duty and Military Service' and submit to the Azerbaijani President. This will ensure coordination of the normative acts of Cabinet of Ministers with the law.

Arzu Rahimov was appointed head of the Azerbaijani state service on mobilization and conscription by President Aliyev's decree. He previously headed the State Migration Service, Trend reported.
