11th international Aeroflot Open Chess Festival 2012 over

The 11th international Aeroflot Open Chess Festival 2012, the main tournament A of which brought together three Armenian chess players, is over in Moscow.

In the 9th round grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan tied game vs. Alexander Khalifman (Russia) and came 7th with 6 points. Mateusz Bartel (Poland) topped the list with 6.5 points.

Karen Grigoryan also tied game vs. Ivan Sokolov (Netherlands) and appeared 22nd with 5.5 points.

Grandmaster Vladimir Akopian gained 5.5 points and came 24th. He took a win over Grzegorz Gajewski (Poland) in the last round.

Hovik Hayrapetyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan and Tigran Kotanjyan ranked 9th, 10th and 11th in tournament B respectively.
