Spielberg won’t shoot Genocide movie

The Armenian National Film Center refuted reports about talks with the famous U.S. director Steven Spielberg to produce a film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“Director of the National Film Center Gevorg Gevorgyan spoke about this back in 2010, and all of a sudden we came across this information on some websites,” a spokesperson for the Film Center told PanARMENIAN.Net.

According to Ruzanna Bagratunyan, they have considered the idea of producing such a film, and the idea is still there. “It is a huge load of work, and we are trying to do it in time; all of us understand what this date means for the whole Armenian nation,” she stressed.

It should be noted that a year ago Spielberg did voice an intention to develop a full-length feature film on the Armenian Genocide, and strangely enough this information is again being rumored now.
