Dereck Chisora has apologized "wholeheartedly" for the brawl with David Haye that followed his loss to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko on Saturday, Feb 18.
According to AP, Chisora said in a statement Monday that he was struck by a bottle but added that his actions "were totally unprofessional, with or without provocation."
German police questioned Chisora for seven hours before releasing him and want to speak to Haye about the incident that followed the title fight in Munich.
Haye said Monday that Chisora and his entourage were to blame for the clash at the post-fight news conference.
Meanwhile, Robert Smith, the British Boxing Board of Control General Secretary, said that Chisora and Haye may face life bans for their brawl.
