Expert compares Scottish independence claim with Karabakh issue

President of the “European Integration” NGO deemed process of Scotland’s gaining independence more important than the outcome itself for Nagorno Karabakh problem.

As Karen Bekaryan told a press conference, the process of Scotland’s becoming an independent state is implemented in atmosphere of tolerance and respect.

The head of the NGO named “being one of the oldest European nations and deserving the right to create independent history” as the key driving force of the Scottish national party in the struggle for independence.

Mr. Bekaryan noted that neither British authorities nor the Scottish National Party (SNP) have the slightest doubt that results of the independence referendum may not be recognized.

In this context, the expert noted that if Azerbaijan demanded replacement of France with Great Britain in the OSCE Minsk Group before, now Germany’s candidacy has become a more common topic.
