GREEK AND ARMENIAN AMERICANS DISAPPOINTED OVER DECISION BY AMERICAN JEWISH CONGRESS TO HONOR TURKEY'S PRIME MINISTER
The Armenian and Greek communities of the US expressed their disappointment over the decision by the American Jewish Congress to honor Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Erdogan with Bravery Award. According to a report of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA), the decorating will take place in New York today within the framework of Erdogan's visit to the US. The joint letter of ANCA and the American Hellenic Institute addressed to the Jewish American Congress reviews the facts of the violations of human rights in Turkey and the aggression aboard under Erdogan's leadership. In the authors' opinion, these are not the actions of a leader who deserves the praise of the American Jewish Congress, which have come to know as the defender of the highest ethical principles.
