Microsoft to release Windows 8 Consumer Preview Feb 29

Microsoft will release the Windows 8 Consumer Preview today, Feb. 29. It is not calling this early Windows 8 release beta suggesting that this release is reasonable stable, i4u.com reports.

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview download is not available yet. Microsoft is expected to start offering the download after the presentation at the MWC 2012 taking place in Barcelona. Microsoft had already released a Windows 8 Developer preview a while ago. What will have changed in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview is not clear yet.

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview download will be available on Microsoft.com later in the day.
