Turkey readies new strategy on Armenian Genocide 100th anniversary

Turkey is developing a new strategy on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, according to Turkish Foreign Minister.

Ahmet Davutoğlu said that long-term activity has been pursued in that direction, noting changes on level of statements and counteractions. “Communication channels must be open for us to share history,” Davutoğlu said, adding that Turkey stands ready to share pain.

Dwelling on posters with anti-Armenian statements during the event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the so-called “Khojalu genocide” in Istanbul, Turkish FM deemed similar moves inadmissible.
