ARMENIA SET CERTAIN BENEFITS FOR REFUGEES
To bring its legislation into accord with the Geneva Convention on Refugees the Armenian Parliament today passed a decision on making amendments and supplements to the law on refugees. As reported by head of the department of migration and refugees under the government of Armenia Gagik Yeganian, the amendments passed specifically provide for certain benefits to refugees, who arrive in Armenia. Thus, those who have arrived in Armenia illegally, can evade administrative responsibility, if it turns out that their life is threatened in their homeland. If this is the case, the refugee cannot be repatriated to his fatherland under any circumstances.
