Armenian Prime Minster Tigran Sargsyan met with Managing Director of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Turkey, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia.

“I’m glad that our cooperation is expanding. We familiarized ourselves with EBRD new strategy. Our experts highly assess the document. We are pleased with bilateral cooperation,” Armenian governmental press service quoted the PM as saying.

Olivier Descamps, in turn, noted that the bank’s investment programs in Armenia are aimed at boosting investment climate of the country.

“Notable changes have been recorded in Armenia for the past 14 years. I congratulate you and your staff on handling the crisis. Armenia currently implements more cautious fiscal and economic policy,” he said.

The parties discussed reforms in the fields of tax and customs, improvement of business climate, as well as issues related to backing the small and medium enterprises, export-oriented industrial policy developed by the government.
