“The Big Bang Theory” hits 2mln check-ins at GetGlue.com

The hits just keep coming for CBS' The Big Bang Theory.

In addition to its recent victories in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic over Fox mega-hit American Idol, the Chuck Lorre/Bill Prady comedy about a group of lovable nerds now ranks as the No. 1 series on interactive entertainment site GetGlue.com.

Starring two-time Emmy nominee Jim Parsons, Big Bang has also become the first series to reach 2 million check-ins on the site, which encourages users to check-in to shows, movies, books or music as they experience them and comment on their entertainment consumption in real time, offering fans stickers as a reward.

“Fans of The Big Bang Theory go bazinga for this show, and it’s great to see their passion,” said Lisa Gregorian, chief marketing officer at Warner Bros. Television Group, which produces the series. “Whether they’re blowing up the blogs and fan pages, playing The Big Bang Theory: Mystic Warlords of Ka’a on Facebook, watching the series or checking in to GetGlue.com to get stickers and interact with other fans, it’s a real community.”

Big Bang Theory currently ranks as Thursday's No. 1 series in 19-49 as well tops in total viewers for the 2011-12 season to date. All told, it's the No. 2 comedy on network TV among total viewers and the adults 25-54 demographic, behind Lorre's Two and a Half Men. It stands as the No. 3 scripted series among adults 18-49.

With repeats now airing on TBS, the series is the top program across all of syndication in adults 18-49 and 25-54, The Hollywood Reporter said.
