Elina Danielian climbs 8th at Women's Chess Championship

Elina Danielian gained victory over Salome Melia (Georgia) in the 10th round of 13th European Individual Women's Chess Championship underway in Turkish city of Gaziantep.

Lilit Mkrtchian and Anna Hairbeatian defeated Zoya Schleining (Germany) and Emel Kaya (Turkey) respectively.

Maria Kursova tied the game against Ukraine’s Natalya Zhukova while Lilit Galojan played in a draw with Azerbaijan’s Turkan Mamedyarova.

After 10 rounds, Danielian made it to 8th place, while Lilit Mkrtchian ranked 24th. Anna Muzychuk (Slovenia) tops the tournament with 8.5 points.

The last, 11th round of the championship will take place on March 13.

The championship is based on Swiss system in accordance with the ECU Tournament Rules and FIDE Rules of Chess. The playing time is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one.

Total prize amounts to Euro 100 000.
