Paul Rudd joins Tina Fey in “Admission” comedy

Earlier this month, Owen Wilson was weighing a role opposite Tina Fey in Admission, a comedy in which Fey plays a college admissions counselor who falls for a 17-year-old applicant, but is also being wooed by a guy her own age. Wilson was up for the older love interest role, of course, but now he's bailed on the idea, leaving room for a possibly even better casting choice to come into play. Paul Rudd is now considering the role, though no formal deal has yet been struck, Cinema Blend reported citing Los Angeles Times.

The plot description as provided by the Times reads a little differently, revealing that Rudd's character would be someone Fey knew in high school but never got to know, and that Rudd has been thinking about her all this time. That sounds even more complicated than the initial love triangle, but also way more fun to watch these two actors spin out of control.

However, there’s lot of Rudd to look forward to this year- he's got one of the few adult roles in The Perks of Being A Wallflower, and he's at the center of Judd Apatow's This Is 40, reviving his character from Knocked Up opposite Leslie Mann.

Perks is set for an undetermined release date later this year, while This Is 40 is scheduled for December 21.
