OSCE won’t conduct monitoring of elections in Armenia, but OSCE/ODIHR will send its observers (24 long-term and over 250 short-term observers) to monitor conduction of fair and transparent elections in Armenia, the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia said.

As Onno Simons told a press conferee in Yerevan, the Association Agreement will be suspended in case the elections in Armenia don’t meet EU demands.

The Association Agreement reflects on the cooperation lines in the field of economic integration, advancement of people and energy. Political association and stage by stage economic integration of EU partner countries are objectives of the agreement. The Association Agreement talks between Armenia and the EU launched on July 19, 2010.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for May 6.
