Prosperous Armenia seeks Putin’s support - paper

Haykakan Zhamanak daily quotes its sources as saying that the leader of Prosperous Armenia party, Gagik Tsarukyan would like Russian President-elect Vladimir Putin to issue a greeting note on the occasion of the party’s congress due on March 17.

A paper's reporter asked Tsarukyan's press secretary Khachik Galstyan whether Putin will send a statement on the party's congress, and whether a representative of Russia’s ruling Edinaya Rossiya (United Russia) party is going to read it out.

“I can’t say anything about Putin’s statement. I don’t know who exactly from Edinaya Rossiya will speak on the congress, but I'm sure they will come up with a statement,” the spokesman said.

It’s worth mentioning that Russian President sent a note on the congress of the Republican Party of Armenia that took place on March 10, with Edinaya Rossiya member Arthur Chilingarov presenting it.

It also became known that Prosperous Armenia is not going to publish its proportional list on the congress day. When asked by a reporter whether the party's leader will meet the journalists after the congress, Tsarukyan's spokesman replied that no press conference is invited.
