Legendary Italian scribe Tonino Guerra dies at 92

Legendary Italian poet, writer and screenwriter Tonino Guerra died in Italy on Wednesday, March 21 at the age of 92, Adriano del Asta, director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow told RIA Novosti.

Guerra, who wrote more than 100 screenplays, worked with such filmmakers as Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Andrey Tarkovsky, Francesco Rosi and Theodoros Angelopoulos.

Among the films he wrote or co-wrote are L'avventura, Red Desert, Blow-Up, Zabriskie Point, Amarcord, Nostalghia, Landscapes of the Mist and Exquisite Corpses. He earned Oscar nominations for Amarcord, Blow-Up and Casanova 70.
