Armenian Assembly of America to continue Genocide recognition campaign

Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) country director for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh Armina Darbinian commented on the introduction of the Armenian Genocide resolution to the U.S. Congress.

“Continued struggle for the Genocide recognition in the Congress is a struggle for interests and morals. The President, during whose term of office justice wins, will earn the right to be called elected leader of the most democratic country,” Darbinian said, stressing the need for the issue to be discussed not solely from the national perspective but in the context of human values.

According to Assembly country director, even if hysterical statements by Turkish officials follow the hearings, State Department takes a cautious diplomatic position or the U.S. President has unusual memory lapses, victory for justice is a mere question of time.

Dwelling on the Assembly’s further activity, Ms. Darbinian noted that it will continue Genocide recognition campaign even more enthusiastically than before, with all its potential.
