Armenian presidential elections set for February 19, 2008

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia will hold presidential elections February 19, 2008, Chairman of the Central Election Committee Garegin Azaryan said.



"The elections will be held on Tuesday, which will be announced a non-working day," he said.



According to the Armenian Constitution, President is elected for a 5-year term. During the previous elections held March 5, 2003, President Robert Kocharian won second term in office. He is not entitled to come forward as a candidate for the third time.
