  Armenian presidential elections set for February 19, 2008November 9, 2007 - 14:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia will hold presidential elections February 19, 2008, Chairman of the Central Election Committee Garegin Azaryan said. "The elections will be held on Tuesday, which will be announced a non-working day," he said. According to the Armenian Constitution, President is elected for a 5-year term. During the previous elections held March 5, 2003, President Robert Kocharian won second term in office. He is not entitled to come forward as a candidate for the third time. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
