When delivering a speech after the unveiling ceremony Mayor of Budennovsk Nikolay Lyaschenko mentioned that "Budennovsk is a symbol of friendship between the Armenian and Russian peoples".

According to the newspaper ''Echo'', Baku, demonstrations of protest demanding to give Karabakh back to Azerbaijan are being held in Stepanakert. None of the sources confirmed this information.
