OSCE COUNCIL TO VIEW ISSUE OF DEPRIVING TWO ARMENIAN INDEPENDENT TV CHANNELS OF AIR LICENSEJuly 28, 2003 - 22:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The issue of not granting the broadcasting licenses to Armenian "A1+" and "Noyan Tapan" independent channels will be discussed at the sitting of the OSCE Council July 31. OSCE Yerevan Office head Roy Reeve accomplishing his mission in Armenia told journalists today. In his words, the present resolution by the Armenian National Commission for TV and Radio jeopardizes pluralism of opinions in Armenia. R. Reeve emphasized that it is inadmissible in European structures to deprive already acting TV companies of license. He informed about the formation of two working groups within the frames of the OSCE to help Armenian experts to complete the law on mass media and insert the necessary amendments into the law on TV and Radio.
