RUSSIAN FM: RUSSIA INTERESTED IN SETTLEMENT OF ALL CONFLICTS IN FORMER USSR TERRITORYFebruary 17, 2005 - 16:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "Settlement of all conflicts in the territory of the former USSR suits our national interests," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated at a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Vardan Oskanian. S. Lavrov spoke in favor of the ministers discussing bilateral relations and realization of commissions of the presidents of the two countries in the course of today's talks. "Our relations are those between partners, allies - both in economy and security," Lavrov said. As noted by V. Oskanian, "it is a historical visit." He reminded that it is the first visit of Sergey Lavrov to Yerevan as the FM. "Your first visit was in 1993 as Deputy Minister. Much has changed since then and Russia played its role in those changes. Within these years we were able to build relations at a very high level. Today it is the level of strategic partnership," the Minister noted. He emphasized that there are no political differences between Armenia and Russia.
