US NOMINATES DIPLOMAT EXPERIENCED IN CONFLICT SETTLEMENT AS AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - The US president has nominated Reno Harnish as new US ambassador to Azerbaijan. As noted in the White House press release, "Mediamax" agency reports, at present Harnish is the chief of the US diplomatic mission in Kosovo. He was deputy head of the US diplomatic mission in Cairo in 1999-2002 and "actively worked at the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict" together with the Egyptian government. Earlier Harnish was engaged in working out political and economic changes in the Central Asian countries and "actively worked for preventing civil war in Tajikistan," the White House press release reports.
