MOSCOW ACTIVELY TRYING TO ASSIST ACHIEVEMENT OF MUTUALLY ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION OF KARABAKH CONFLICT

Due to that we pin much hope on the continuing dialogue between the Armenian and Azeri presidents, as the success is first of all dependent on their mutual understanding. As reported by "Mediamax" agency, the 4-th department of the Russian foreign ministry on CIS countries stated it, answering the question about the prospects of settling the Karabakh confrontation received within the framework of "Russia and the world in answers to your questions" Internet project. "Within its own capacities, as well as within the OSCE Minsk group format Moscow is actively trying to assist the Armenian and Azeri parties in finding a mutually acceptable soonest possible solution of the problem," - the reply text says. At the same time, in case the conflicting parties reach an accord, Russia expressed willingness to appear in the role of the settlement guarantee.
