Knesset Deputy Speaker slams Azerbaijan over Karabakh escalationApril 4, 2016 - 18:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Speaker of Israel’s Knesset Tali Ploskov expressed her support for the Armenian people and strongly condemned Azerbaijan’s actions against Nagorno Karabakh. At a meeting with her Armenian counterpart Hermine Naghdalyan, Ploskov characterized Azerbaijan’s activities as terrorism against the whole region. Sharing the Armenian people’s concerns, the Israeli Deputy Speaker expressed readiness to raise the awareness of the Azeri agression and called on Baku to stop the policy that leads nowhere. On the night of April 1-2, Azerbaijani armed forces initiated overt offensive operations in the southern, southeastern and northeastern directions of the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh. As many as 18 Karabakh servicemen were killed and 35-40 were wounded in the course of military operations.
