TBILISI AGAIN CAME AGAINST RUSSIAN FORCES PARTICIPATION IN ANTI-TERRORIST OPERATIONS IN GEORGIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Moscow should think of elimination of military bases in Batumi and Akhalkalaki, not of adding to the Russian military subdivisions in the Georgian territory. Director of the public relations department of the Georgian foreign ministry Kakha Sikharulidze stated it when commenting on the State Duma discussion of the opportunity for Russian forces to participate in anti-terrorist operations in Georgia. As reported by "De Facto" agency referring to Russian sources, in Sikharulidze's words, the issue of withdrawal of Russian military bases from the Georgian territory constitutes international obligations of Russia and Georgia. Let us note that Moscow says it will withdraw the military bases from Akhalkalaki and Batumi within 11 years, while Georgia presses for three.
