Armenia: YELQ bloc boycotts president's speech at first NA session![]() May 18, 2017 - 11:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Newly-elected lawmakers from YELQ bloc were absent from the National Assembly hall as president Serzh Sargsyan addressed the first parliament session on Thursday, May 18. Parliamentary elections were held on April 2, with four political forces making it to the National Assembly. In a conversation with PanARMENIAN.Net YELQ spokesman Tigran Avinyan said the MPs will return to the hall once the president's speech is over to participate in the first session. The 6th Convocation National Assembly will consist of 105 lawmakers, including 58 from RPA, 31 from Tsarukyan bloc, nine from YELQ, and seven from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
