Catholicos names Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamian as Primate of Karabakh Diocese

PanARMENIAN.Net - Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has relieved Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamian from the post of the Head Chaplain of the Armenian Army and appointed him as the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the press service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reports.

The appointment comes after Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan was dismissed as the Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh and appointed His Holiness' Nuncio for Special Assignments.

Father Yenovk Yesayan, meanwhile, has been named as acting Head Chaplain of the Armenian Army.
