Grandmaster Vladimir Akopian leaves Armenia for U.S.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Vladimir Akopian is now representing the United Sates.

According to information published on FIDE's website, Akopian is now a member of the U.S. chess Federation

Grandmaster Levon Aronian announced in February that he was leaving Armenia to represent the United States. In a message published on his Facebook page back then, Aronian said the Armenian authorities have not been honoring their commitment to develop chess in the country.
