The Defense Ministry on Tuesday, November 16 confirmed deaths and injuries among the Armenian army personnel, after Azerbaijan launched a fresh attack in the country's south.

Although the authorities did not provide a specific number of deaths and injuries, they did reveal that the Armenian side has also lost two positions in Syunik.

The situation remains extremely tense, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"The units of the Armenian Armed Forces have caused considerable losses of military equipment and manpower to the enemy. The battles continue, their intensity has not weakened," the statement reads.

Azerbaijan launched a new provocation in the province of Syunik on Tuesday, shelling the Armenian positions at the same time, the Defense Ministry reported earlier.
