Businessman planning to build 33-meter Jesus statue in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan has revealed that his family has commissioned the construction of a 33-meter statue of Jesus Christ in Armenia.

According to him, the statue could end up being twice or even three times higher together with a pedestal. He revealed that a large group of architects and specialists are going to work on the project, which will go into construction in the current year.

It is still unclear where exactly the status is going to be, although applications are now being accepted.

There are a number of colossal statues depicting Jesus Christ around the world, including in Bolivia and Portugal. The most iconic of them all is the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is 30 meters high, excluding its 8-meter pedestal.
