Grigoryan: No Armenian territory will remain in neutral zone

PanARMENIAN.Net - No community or territory of the Republic of Armenia can appear in the neutral zone after the demarcation of borders with Azerbaijan, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan told reporters on Thursday, January 20.

"There is no such danger," Grigoryan noted, according to Aysor.am.

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan revealed earlier that the Armenian side has prepared a package of measures aimed at de-escalating the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, reducing tensions, and increasing the level of security and stability. The package, according to him, has been sent to Russia and through Russia to Azerbaijan.

Grigoryan added that the Armenian side has received no response from Azerbaijan.

Also Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan said the Armenian side has no preconditions when it comes to the demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan. Hunanyan's remarks came after Azeri Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said "Yerevan’s preconditions for starting delimitation are unacceptable for Baku".
