Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar met in Yerevan Thursday, April 21 to the establishment of a bilateral commission on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wictorin also attended the meeting.
The implementation of the agreements reached at the trilateral meeting in Brussels on December 14, 2021 was also on the table.
During the meeting, the sides weighed in on the implementation of the 9th point on unblocking regional communications, mentioned in the statement of the Armenian Prime Minister, the Azerbaijani President and the Russian President of November 9, 2020 .
According to a statement from the government, the Deputy Prime Minister presented the position of the Republic of Armenia, using this process as a guarantee of long-term peace and stability in the region.
The meeting came on the heels of his meeting with Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels on April 6. In the Belgian capital, Pashinyan and Aliyev agreed to set up a bilateral border commission by the end of April.
